Reservoir Partners With Morpho & Steakhouse for rUSD Vault

Reservoir is excited to announce a new strategic partnership with Morpho and Steakhouse Financial, two pioneers of the broader DeFi ecosystem. Between Reservoir's mission and the capabilities of Morpho and Steakhouse, we've decided to work with both to launch a dedicated rUSD vault on the Morpho platform, expertly managed by Steakhouse Financial. The vault allows users of the Morpho protocol to borrow rUSD, Reservoir's next-gen stablecoin.

A New Era for Reservoir

Until now, Reservoir has been lending out USDC on its balance sheet to a Steakhouse-managed vault on Morpho, capturing yield on idle assets. With this new partnership, Reservoir will have its own vault on Morpho, enabling users to mint and borrow rUSD directly. Users can borrow rUSD at a variable lending rate; Reservoir is uniquely privileged and positioned to offer competitive fixed-rate loans directly from its balance sheet thanks to the first-ever on-chain coupon bond that gives the protocol term-based liabilities to work with.

Not only that, but vault users will be able to borrow rUSD using a our srUSD yield bearing stablecoin (YBS) as a collateral type. Later down the line, a variety of RWAs, Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs), and other digital assets will be accepted collateral types. Lastly, this latest partnership also means that the steakRUSD vault officially joins the list of assets on Reservoir’s Proof of Reserves balance sheet.

Said differently, Reservoir will now not only earn a yield from lending its stablecoin, but the aforementioned integration also marks the beginning of a new and deepened relationship between Reservoir, Morpho, and Steakhouse Financial.

Looking ahead, Reservoir plans to expand its product offerings on the Morpho platform. By working closely with Steakhouse and Morpho, we aim to create innovative solutions that go beyond rUSD, further enhancing the utility and reach of Reservoir's products.
